Terms
The agreement between Turfline and the agency that uses it: what a cell gives you, what you take on as the sender, and how paying and leaving work.
Your cell
A cell is one US county and one category of business. While your agency holds a cell, no other agency on Turfline can claim it. The businesses in it are the ones in the open data that publish an email; how many there are changes with each release of that data, and Turfline promises no number.
You can release a cell at any time, and it is then free for others.
You send the email
Turfline drafts each email and never sends it. When you approve a draft it opens in your own Gmail, Outlook or mail app, and you send it there. That makes your agency the sender under the law, including the US CAN-SPAM Act.
- Every draft carries your name, your postal address and an opt-out link, and you keep them in what you send.
- Do not write again to a business that has opted out, through Turfline or any other way.
- Read each email before it goes, and send nothing false or misleading.
- Write only to businesses, about your agency's services, and not in bulk from tools that hide who you are.
The data and its licences
The businesses come from the Overture Maps Foundation under open licences, and those licences travel with the data. When you download your cell or your leads, the download includes the licence texts and the attribution; anyone you share the rows with gets them too. The licences are on Data licences.
The data is published as it is, and so is Turfline's copy: an address may be out of date or a business may have closed.
Paying
The free tier needs no card. A plan is paid monthly by card through Stripe, at the price shown on Billing before you subscribe, and businesses past your plan's monthly allowance are billed per business at the end of the month. If a payment fails, approving, editing and downloading stop until it is paid; your cell and your queue are kept.
Ending
You can cancel from Billing at any time; the plan runs to the end of the month you paid for. We may close an account that breaks these terms, in particular one that keeps writing to businesses that opted out. Turfline is provided as it is, and we change these terms only with notice on this page.
